Honey locust is known for being a high-quality wood due to its dense, durable, and rot resistant nature. Small pin knots or pin knot clusters are common adding to the uniqueness of this wood. Honey locust has a medium to light reddish-brown heartwood with an especially distinct light-yellow sapwood.
